Let’s start afresh for a better Bukit Lanjan, Malaysia

Give new faces a chance in the coming 14th General Election (GE14) to start afresh to work for the rakyat (people) for a better Bukit Lanjan and Malaysia.

It is also time to elect quality, dedicated, committed and honest politicians to serve the rakyat and country.

“And elected representatives must defend, at all cost, the rights of harmonious Malaysians and their demand for fairness and justice,” Gerakan Deputy Speaker Syed Abdul Razak Alsagoff said.

Speaking at a presentation of 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) vouchers under the N.37 Bukit Lanjan, Subang, constituency, Syed Razak said: “Please forgive us all for our past mistakes. We are, after all, only human.

“I beg for your forgiveness. For GE14, please give me a chance to serve Bukit Lanjan which is under the Subang constituency.

“If I am elected and I don’t deliver, please give me the boot in GE15,” he added.

Syed Razak said: There are good and bad apples on both sides of the political divide. Please look and compare the candidates according to their qualifications, intelligence and clean record to serve.

“It is absolutely not right to vote just based on party affiliation. It must be the quality and capability of a candidate that matters to the rakyat.”

Syed Razak, who is Gerakan's nominee to contest N.37 Bukit Lanjan in the coming GE14, said the dedication and commitment of a politician to serve must be the prime consideration of voters.

“Those who are going for state seats, their only concern must be to ensure the rights and demands of the rakyat as rate payers. And that is their right for quality municipal services, united and harmonious neighbourhoods,” he added.

Syed Razak said he was duty-bound to adopt a “service-oriented” policy for the Bukit Lanjan folk if he was given the mandate to serve.

After the BR1M presentations, the organisers of a Sunday market invited Syed Razak, Subang Umno secretary Mohd Rashidi Mohamad and Subang Gerakan chairman Chong Chee Yen to officiate at a children’s bicycle decoration contest.

The monthly Sunday market was jointly organised by Persatuan Iqra, Universiti Malaya Students’ Association and Peduduk Desa Temuan Bukit Lanjan in the compound of Dewan Sri Temuan, Desa Temuan, Damansara Perdana, where the BR1M presentation was held.
