Are you a hawker or petty trader? Do you need financial aid? Do you need help to attract foodies to promote your cuisines?
If your answer is “Yes!” to all three questions, then there’s good news for you, especially those in Bukit Lanjan!
A day-long MyHawker roadshow will be held in front of Restoran Woh in Bandar Sri Damansara (1G Jalan Cempaka SD 12/2) tomorrow (Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at 9am).
The roadshow will also feature the 1Malaysia Chinese hawker micro credit fund services.
MyHawker was introduced by the Development Unit of Hawkers, Petty Traders and Penang Hindu Endowment Board last year under Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Mah Siew Keong. (View video link above)
Gerakan Deputy Speaker Syed Abdul Razak Alsagoff said the MyHawker roadshow would provide the opportunity to hawkers and petty traders to seek help to kick start or promote their existing business.
“The MyHawker service is extended free of charge,” he added.
Syed Razak, who is Gerakan’s nominee to contest N.37 Bukit Lanjan in the coming 14th General Election (GE14), said those who need financial loan to kick start or expand their existing business “are urged to visit the roadshow.
“There’s no need for you to go for the blood-sucking illegal Ah Longs or loan sharks. That would be the beginning of a disastrous financial nightmare,” he added.
Syed Razak urged hawkers and petty traders in Bukit Lanjan who need the help of MyHawker to “make time and check out the roadshow”.

MyHawker app to help foodies locate best place to eat
BY HANIS ZAINAL
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians can now turn to the newly-launched MyHawker app to indulge in their favourite pastime – makan or eating sessions.
The app helps users find food outlets according to area, its halal status and type of meal – whether for breakfast, lunch, dinner or supper.
It also enables users to rate outlets on their dish, price, service and hygiene.
Simon Ang, who manages a dried meat business in Jalan Alor here, said the app would allow hawkers to improve their food and service if they find their customers giving them negative reviews.
“This will in turn benefit future customers,” said Ang, 40, adding that establishments would also benefit from free publicity if the reviews were good.
The app, he said, would also enable Malaysians to enjoy each other’s cuisine.
“For Malays, the app can tell them which places serve halal food. It’s especially useful in places like Jalan Alor where there are halal establishments but you have to go and ask one by one.
“With the app, you can go straight to the halal outlet,” he said, adding it would also help tourists find good local eateries.
The MyHawker app was launched by Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong yesterday, who said the app would help hawkers and small business owners in the country grow in line with technology.
“In this era of innovation, many people, especially youths, use their smartphones. So, this will be a good way for them to find good places to eat,” said Mah.
